Violin Lessons for Adults
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” Picasso
Have you always wanted to learn violin? Perhaps you learnt violin as a child and always wanted to play again....
As a child, you have a fearless attitude. You take on every challenge without a second thought. Unfortunately, as we grow up, we become more self conscious. The thought of trying something new (or returning to something we haven't done for years) is overwhelming and therefore often dismissed. Learning violin with me, you will be given the freedom to discover and learn in an encouraging environment.
Being a Beginner Adult Violinist:
Of course, you need to learn the basics, but I aim to have you learning the styles and pieces of of music that you like as soon as possible. I'll also give you a variety of music to expose you to a range of styles (you never know what music you might discover).
If you don't know how to read music, this can seem a daunting task - music is a whole other language - but I have a way of teaching music reading that is logical, enjoyable, and above all, the most musical way to look at those strange dots on the page.
Adults with Previous Experience:
Have you learned violin or another instrument in the past? No doubt your knowledge and experience will show themselves with surprising ease once you begin. Together we'll rediscover these skills.
Understanding some music theory can really accelerate your learning. If you have an interest in understanding music on a deeper level, theory can be incorporated into your lessons in a way that is relevant to the pieces you are playing. This way, theory is not an irrelevant, abstract idea, but is directly related to your practice at the instrument.
Violin lessons are all 45minutes or an hour. Prices start at $60.
Places are limited. To arrange your violin lesson, please fill out the contact form.
